Artsplay! Workshops
The Michigan Wolf Trap Program is a partnership between Michigan AEYC and the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts.
Michigan Wolf Trap artists will present the following workshops to preschool through early elementary educators, administrators, school specialists, parents and aides. The following workshops are one hour and fifteen minutes in length.
  Introduction to Wolf Trap:
Music, Movement and Drama -- Art and Education in Harmony
Explore techniques and approaches of teaching the whole child. Through the performing arts, you'll breathe life into theories of development and education.

Beyond the Books and Throughout the Centers
Extend your use of performing arts techniques from circle time to your learning centers. Strengthen your staff's use of the performing arts. Learn new variations that go beyond the Wolf Trap handbooks. This workshop is a refresher for Wolf Trap Artist-in-Residency trained teachers.

Building Self-Esteem and Resolving Conflicts
Using a multi-sensory approach, children feel positive and handle conflicts peacefully. You will learn through hands-on activities and music to teach these skills to children.

The following workshops can be half-day (three hours) or full-day presentations:

Creative Arts Activities for Children with Special Needs
Rejuvinate your special needs program with original songs, movement, and imaginative play for children aged two to six years. Wolf Trap handbook supplements and cassettes are available to Wolf Trap trained teachers.

Multiple Intelligences: Supporting the Unique Nature of Each Child
Howard Gardner of Harvard University contends that there are separate human capacities ranging from musical intelligence to an intelligence which allows one to understand him/herself. This workshop describes the theory and research supporting the concept of multiple intelligence and impementation strategies for preschool through early elementary teachers. What are you already doing? What can you do to give your students more opportunities for success? Michigan Wolf Trap artists demonstrate how the arts are used in an integrated curriculum to support multiple intelligence.

Multicultural Classroom Enrichment
Learn new and effective ways to honor the cultures and traditions of the children in your classroom. Learn creative approaches to recognize and involve parents in your program.

Workshops can also be tailored to meet your specific program needs.
The artist may need to rearrange the room, to know the number of participants, what type of audience, details about location, time and date.

Artists may need sound equipment.
For the cost of a particular workshop, contact Todd Greenbaum. The cost will include: the workshop, artists mileage, lodging if necessary and a master handout.
