Location:
Michigan. Staff work flexible hours and are fully remote.
Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing and Membership is part of a collaborative and diverse team. The Director of Marketing and Membership supports the mission of Michigan AEYC by planning and executing targeted marketing communications to optimize member experience, maximize event and professional development revenue, boost engagement, and achieve membership growth goals. The Director of Marketing and Membership works closely with the Program Manager- Membership to create a seamless member experience which includes generating demand, conversion and acquisition, onboarding, and retention. The Director of Marketing and Membership is responsible for leading initiatives to increase and communicate member value, drive event and program registrations, and to create new opportunities offering value to members. The role collaborates with all Michigan AEYC teams, including Professional Programs and Finance/Administration and manages the Marketing and Membership department.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on member or customer engagement and retention.
• Experience building, executing and scaling marketing programs.
• Experience executing marketing campaigns through email or social media.
• Non-profit/membership association experience preferred.
• Proficiency with cloud-based computer technology, including database software.
• Strategic, creative, and data-driven mindset.
• Strong working knowledge of digital marketing tools and systems (Google analytics, social media, email campaigns- preferably MailChimp, web design- preferably WordPress).
• Excellent editing/proofreading skills- strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Ability to work with diverse individuals and organizations.
• Experience in child development/early childhood systems preferred, not required.
• Prior to employment, candidate must pass a drug screening test, and undergo a reference and security check.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Marketing and Membership will work with Michigan AEYC to perform the following essential functions including but not limited to:
• Develop and implement strategies to maximize member engagement and retention, and drive revenue growth.
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns including email, social media, web, digital advertising, and mail.
• Manage the organization’s social media strategy and execution.
• Collaborate with membership and other stakeholders to develop and execute a member experience strategy that drives recruitment, engagement and retention.
• Write and edit copy, creative development, and work with contracted marketing services.
• Manage audiences and segments in MailChimp, creating personalized and targeted messaging.
• Utilize analytics and feedback to track, test, and improve marketing efforts.
• Assist with preparation of budgets.
• Utilize internal communication and program management tools including Microsoft Teams, Asana, and Google Workspace to ensure collaboration.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects and requests with various deadlines.
• Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with Michigan AEYC program participants and partners.
• Attend Michigan AEYC programs, events, and meetings as requested.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Compensation:
