Job Description:

• The Noon Hour Aide -Great Start Readiness assists Pre-Kindergarten students in their classroom during lunch times to ensure a safe environment.
• Provide coverage in the pre-kindergarten classroom during lunch with minimum supervision. Sit with the students for a family-style meal to encourage conversation and discussions about the food. Prepare food in serving containers for the students to serve themselves. Support students as they set the table and as they clean up after the meal. Ability to work well with students and staff. Assist with escorting and monitoring students during lunch period and outside recess. Assist students with setting down and picking up cots for rest time. Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, parents, visitors, and the community. Clean the refrigerator weekly and document refrigerator/freezer temperature twice daily. Rotate foods (using older foods first). Clean and sanitize tables and food prep area according to the State of Michigan licensing 3-step process. Attend all city-wide in-service activities and sessions related to your job description. Obtain 24 hours of Professional Development per school year including but not limited to: CPR/First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogen, Food Safety, Diversity, and Licensing as appropriate. Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
