Job Title: Lead Teacher – Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)

Job Type: Full-time

Job Overview:
The Lead Teacher for the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is responsible for providing high-quality early childhood education to children ages 4 to 5 years old in a pre-kindergarten setting. The Lead Teacher will implement a comprehensive curriculum that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children, ensuring that all students are prepared for success in kindergarten and beyond. This role requires strong leadership skills, collaboration with families and staff, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Implementation: – Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with GSRP guidelines. – Use assessment tools to monitor and evaluate children’s progress and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs. – Plan and organize daily activities that promote active learning through play, exploration, and discovery.
2. Classroom Management: – Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and active engagement. – Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior and classroom routines. – Address behavioral issues with effective strategies that promote conflict resolution and social-emotional learning.
3. Collaboration and Communication: – Work collaboratively with co-teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning. – Engage and communicate regularly with families to share children’s progress, strategies for home support, and resources available within the community. – Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.
4. Assessment and Reporting: – Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress and development through observation and formal evaluation. – Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including portfolios and developmental assessments. – Prepare and present reports on student achievement to families and the program director.
5. Professional Development: – Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and GSRP standards through continuous professional development. – Mentor and support assistant teachers and volunteers in the classroom.
6. Health and Safety: – Ensure the classroom environment meets health and safety standards and addresses the needs of all children. – Promote healthy habits and routines, including nutrition, hygiene, and physical activity.

Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related Degree
