Job Description:

OB SUMMARY: The teacher is responsible for communicating knowledge to students in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner using various instructional methodologies and a play-based learning curriculum that promotes active learning.

Essential Functions:
1. Creates a classroom learning environment that is aligned with HighScope, COR Advantage 1.5, MI-Early Childhood Standards of Quality, and PQA (Preschool Program Quality Assessment)
2. Communicate with parents and other team members about student progress and plan for future instruction
3. Maintain accurate records to document student performance to include attendance, grades, and behavior
4. Integrate technology into teaching and professional activities
5. Collaborate with teaching team and coaches
6. Create and maintain effective communication with parents
7. Work on curriculum development in addition to implementation
8. Integrate technology into the instructional program and demonstrate professional use
9. Communicates with parents and others in multiple ways such as newsletters, emails, phone calls, etc. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Early Childhood Supervisor

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform similar or other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.A Bachelor’s Degree required in Early Childhood Education ( Lead Teacher)
2. TB Test
4. Able to pass a background check
5. Bloodborne Pathogens
6. Willingness to participate in Professional Development throughout the year
7. Able to do two home visits and two parent-teacher conferences
8. Willing to do parent meetings
9. Certification of Completion in CPR and First Aid training
10. Other qualifications may be necessary depending on the respective program requirement changes.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Annual Performance Reviews are based on essential functions, including but not limited to, additional responsibilities, attendance, and adherence to school policy & practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing this job’s duties, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and/or stand for 5 hours or more. May have to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
