Job Description:

Isabella Child Development Center (ICDC) seeks a Director/Lead Teacher for a Full-Day Great Start Readiness Program.

Director/Teacher Responsibilities:

The Director/Teacher is responsible for operating the center in a manner that contributes to the children’s growth and development through:
1. Planning and implementing a daily developmentally appropriate educational program and related activities.
2. Maintaining a physical environment that conforms to required standards of safety and cleanliness, and that is conducive to the growth and development of participating children.
3. Keeping accurate records of attendance which would include current numbers on enrolled, absenteeism, special need atypical behaviors, suspected abuses, injuries, accidents, and emergencies.
4. Relating to each child’s family and others involved with the child and family in a cooperative, friendly, and professional manner so as to help meet the overall goals for each child’s development.
5. Representing the Isabella Child Development Center with the Regional Preschool Partnership.
6. Ensuring program meets guidelines and requirements established by the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP).
7. Coordinate the enrollment of children in accordance with GSRP guidelines and requirements and Board policy.
8. Working cooperatively with other ICDC staff, plan and implement parent meetings, family events, and other relevant meetings designed to further the goals of the ICDC.
9. Report regularly to the ICDC Board of Directors and work with Board committees to ensure delivery of a high quality early childhood program.
10. Attend appropriate professional development workshops or those required of the Regional Preschool Partnership, GSRP, or Michigan Food Program.
