Job Title: Lead Teacher – Infant Room
Location: Hour Time Hourly Childcare
Reports To: Director/Assistant Director
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher for our Infant Room. The Lead Teacher will create a nurturing and safe environment for infants (ages 6 weeks to 12 months) while providing high-quality care and developmentally appropriate activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, patient, and committed to fostering the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of each child.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and Lead Infant Room: Oversee daily operations of the infant room, ensuring safety, hygiene, and developmental needs are met.

Curriculum Development:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences to support infants’ cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.

Care and Nurturing:
Provide individualized care, including feeding, diapering, and comforting infants according to their schedules and needs.

Communication with Parents:
Maintain open and positive communication with parents, providing daily reports on each child’s progress, activities, and milestones.

Safety and Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment at all times, adhering to all licensing regulations and safety standards.

Observation and Assessment:
Regularly observe and document children’s developmental progress and communicate any concerns to parents and the Director through Procare.

Compliance with Policies:
Follow all state licensing requirements and center policies regarding health, safety, and confidentiality.

Training and Development:
Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications, Education, Experience and physical requirements
1. Lead caregivers for infants and toddlers shall have 3 semester hours, or 4.5 CEUs, or 45 hours of MiRegistry approved infant and toddler development and care practices within 6 months of hire.
2. Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Or have their Infant/Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate) or equivalent certification.
3. A minimum of 3 months (480hrs) of full time experience in a licensed childcare facility.
4. Strong knowledge of infant development and best practices in infant care.
5. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
7. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and engage in physical activities such as sitting on the floor, standing for extended periods, and moving around the classroom.
