Job Description:

We are a small cooperative preschool located in Ann Arbor, MI on the campus of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Ann Arbor. Triangle Cooperative has been long standing in Ann Arbor and was started in 1951 as Eberwhite Nursery School. We are hiring a part-time lead teacher role for our 4-year old program beginning in the fall of 2023.

The class meets Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from about 9:15 a.m. -12:15 p.m. Additional time for setup and cleanup required before and after. Triangle Cooperative follows regular Ann Arbor Public School schedule of regular school breaks. Paid training in the spring/summer and suggested attendance at playdates in the summer to meet families and children. The semester starts in September and ends in May.

The teacher is responsible for creating and implementing a fun, interactive, play-based curriculum including art, music, circle story time. The school year is about 90 days in-class.

Classes are up to 15 children with 2-3 rotating parent volunteers.

The position requires the Teacher to be on the Triangle Board and support the positive operation and activities associated with the co-op school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Early Childhood Education Associates degree or Child Development or closely related field. Preferably with 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or bachelor’s degree or higher in closely related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with preschoolers in a group setting
Ability to lead a classroom and work with 2 rotating parent volunteers
Experience developing and implementing a play-based preschool curriculum
