Job Description:

Human Development and Family Studies is seeking qualified candidates for a teacher/child development specialist to work with children and university students at the Michigan State University Child Development Laboratory (CDL). The successful candidate will teach in a nationally recognized, university-affiliated laboratory program for young children and teachers in training. The CDL provides parenting education/family support and high quality early childhood programming for children ages birth to 6 years. Responsibilities include functioning as a head teacher in an early childhood classroom and academic specialist at Michigan State University; training, supervising, and evaluating university students; and participating in professional outreach. Other duties as assigned by director.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A Master’s in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or related field. Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience as a lead teacher with children between the ages of two through five.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with linguistically and culturally diverse families is desired. Experience working with children with special needs in an inclusive setting.
