Job Title: Associate Teacher
Location: Pre K International – Kalamazoo, MI
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
Compensation: $13–$16/hour, based on experience and credentials

Position Summary
The Associate Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom for preschool-aged children. This role is ideal for a caring, reliable, and energetic educator who is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys working in a team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities
Support daily classroom routines and activities aligned with developmentally appropriate practices.
Assist in implementing lesson plans focused on early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional skills, and multicultural learning.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
Supervise indoor and outdoor play to ensure children’s safety.
Support child assessments, observations, and documentation.
Engage in positive communication with families and staff.
Assist with mealtime routines, diapering/toileting, and rest time.
Uphold program policies and licensing regulations.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Experience working with young children in a group setting
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multilingual environment
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential – Infant/Toddler or Preschool
Bilingual or multilingual abilities
Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices
