Job Statement:
Child Care Network (CCN) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support families experiencing challenges that create barriers to accessing child care. These may include financial hardship, homelessness, domestic violence, life crises, or other circumstances that impact family stability. The primary focus of this grant-funded position is to help families secure stable, high-quality child care by providing referrals, eligibility assessment, case management, child care scholarships, and ongoing support. This role also includes assisting families in overcoming related barriers by connecting them with internal and community resources. This position reports to the Family Support Program Coordinator.

Performance Expectations:

• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from families, providing clear information about services and scholarship opportunities.
• Assess family eligibility for the Family Support Program using established guidelines. Calculate scholarship amounts using established formulas and financial guidelines, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all cases.
• Develop and manage scholarship contracts, ensuring families and providers understand obligations and timelines.
• Coordinate the distribution of scholarship information and applications, determine eligibility, and communicate outcomes to applicants.
• Process monthly billings, maintain accurate parent and provider records, manage funder accounts, and ensure high-quality data entry in CCN’s program database.
• Support families in identifying and overcoming barriers that affect employment, stability, or child care access, including connecting them with internal and external resources.
• Screen families for state DHHS child care assistance eligibility and assist them in accessing it when needed.
• Provide technical assistance to child care providers regarding program policies, scholarship contracts, billing procedures, CCN services, and professional support opportunities.
• Promote the Family Support Program through outreach materials, presentations, community events, and other communication channels.
• Represent CCN and the Family Support Program professionally in the community, including at tabling events, partner meetings, and collaborative efforts.
• Collaborate with other agencies to address child and family needs, remove barriers to accessing child care, and advocate on behalf of families.
• Stay informed about current policies and recommended best practices in early childhood, family, support, and social services.
• Participate in program evaluation and continuous quality improvement efforts across the agency.
• Attend agency-wide and departmental meetings regularly.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and agency information.
• Diligently work to improve work-related skills and performance through continuing education and self-reflection. Complete at least 16 hours of professional development annually.
• Demonstrates knowledge of CCN programs and services, making referrals as appropriate.
• Exude positive energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm and embrace the mission of CCN.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellent customer service for families experiencing challenges, child care providers, funders, and community partners.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Two (2) years of experience in a related field such as family support, social or human services, early childhood, case management, community engagement, or a similar setting; OR 60 college credits with coursework in Social or Human Services, Psychology, Child and Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. A combination of lived experience supporting families experiencing challenges and education may be considered.
• Comfort working with numbers and performing multi-step calculations (such as percentages and prorated amounts) when determining scholarship awards. • Knowledge of or experience with early care and education programs.
• Understanding of challenges commonly experienced by families, including financial hardship and other barriers that impact access to child care.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with families, providers, and community partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and community partners, as well as work independently in a self-directed environment.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment, especially when handling sensitive information or making eligibility decisions.
• Proficiency with computer technology, including spreadsheets, databases, email, internet navigation, and word processing.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when maintaining records, entering data, and processing billing.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and agency information.
