Job Description:

POSTING DATE: October 3, 2025
Expiration Date: Until Filled
POSITION: Lead Teacher – PreK for All
HOURS: 8:00 am – 3:45 pm Monday – Friday (189 days)
START DATE: 25/26 School Year
RATE OF PAY: $30.70/hour
REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood

QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement
OR A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education
OR child development with a specialization in preschool teaching.
The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education
Experience working with Preschool Children preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Helps to plan varied activities for preschool children using the Connect4Learning (C4L) Curriculum
Participates in home visitation with all enrolled families twice a year
Participates in Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year
Participates in Parent Involvement Nights twice a year
Follows consistent routines and limits
Makes all children feel comfortable, secure and loved Insures health and safety of children at all times
Helps to provide regular feedback to parents about their children
Helps to maintain a portfolio on each child using the Teaching Strategies Gold
Assists families with resource referrals
Enforces the discipline policies and procedures stated in the parent handbook and staff handbook
Maintains classroom orderliness
Works with the Director of Early Childhood Programs to plan field trips and special activities
Attends Early Childhood Curriculum meetings
Helps to plan parent education/involvement activities
Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
