Learn more about #WOYC2026
The Week of the Young Child® (#WOYC2026) is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to recognize early learning, young children, early childhood programs, families, and communities.
A joyful week dedicated to celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities—while also honoring two important milestones: NAEYC’s 100th anniversary and the 55th anniversary of the Week of the Young Child®.

55th Anniversary of the Week of the Young Child®
Each April, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) invites educators, families, and communities to come together to celebrate the Week of the Young Child® (WOYC)—a time to highlight the joy of early learning and the vital role early childhood educators play in shaping young minds.

Celebrate Young Children All April Long
Michigan AEYC encourages individuals, families, and early childhood programs to celebrate young children all year long—not just during the Week of the Young Child™, April 11–17, 2026.
Download the April activity calendar and resources to find meaningful ways to engage children, families, and your community throughout the entire month.
