GSRP Assistant Teacher Position Details
Description: Early Childhood University is seeking a qualified GSRP assistant teacher to work in our Pre-K classroom for the 2026-27 school year. Our class is 4 days with the children, and Fridays as a planning, documentation and organizing/cleaning day OR professional development day. We are looking for an assistant who will play a vital role in making our GSRP class a high-quality early childhood environment and will build meaningful connections with children and families.

Education: Child Development Associates (CDA) degree (or higher)
Must pass a comprehensive background check including fingerprinting
Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications: Experience in a Preschool or Pre-K classroom, GSRP preferred.
Knowledge of early childhood development and assessment practices
Commitment to meet Michigan GSRP and licensing requirements
Organized, dependable, caring
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work at physical level with preschoolers

Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist lead teacher to Plan and implement daily lessons aligned with the High Scope curriculum
Conduct Home Visits and Parent-Teacher conferences twice per school year, with the Lead Teacher
Assist with ASQ screenings and COR reports on a daily/weekly basis
Attend professional development sessions off-site as required
Collaborate with the lead teacher, program director and GSRP consultants to ensure alignment with GSRP standards
Maintain accurate and confidential student records, progress notes, and assessment data
