Job Description:

Hello candidates!

We are looking for an upbeat, friendly, independent, and professional early childhood educator. Someone who is familiar with early education milestones, and creating lesson plans.

The Lead Teacher must meet the GSRP qualifications upon hire. A Lead Teacher will be considered credentialed for the position with minimally any of the following:

– A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Early Childhood General and Special Education birth to kindergarten (ZN) or Lower Elementary Education PK (ZO) endorsement; or
– A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education ; or
– A bachelor’s degree in elementary teaching with a valid Preschool CDA

Applicants must pass:

Fingerprinting & background check
A negative TB test
Provide documentation of current CPR/First Aid training.
Only candidates with valid transcripts for each position will be considered.

Main Job Responsibilities:

– Implement developmentally appropriate instruction for children using research-based curriculum.
– Follow the daily schedule as outlined in the curriculum and GSRP guidelines.
– Conduct screening and ongoing assessment of children and provide age-appropriate instructional support.
– Meet with Early Childhood Specialist as needed to ensure quality programming and maintain a high-level CLASS rating.
– Attend staff meetings, workshops, and other scheduled program activities as requested.
– Collaborate with the associate teacher in planning, team meetings, troubleshooting, and decision-making.
– Participate in home visits with associate teacher to partner with parents to meet the educational needs of their children.
– Complete required child progress reports and other paperwork.
– Participate in recruitment efforts, including open houses and orientations, and assist in student selection.
– Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
– Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
