Job Description:

Positions open at multiple locations – Shepherd, Winn, West Midland Family Center.
Preferred:
Current CDA or an Early Childhood Associate Degree.
In the event that we are unable to hire a candidate with the above credentials, persons who have some training in early childhood education or child development, or experience in GSRP and are willing to pursue a Preschool CDA or Early Childhood Associate degree may be considered. If hired without proper credentialing, a written compliance plan to attain one of the above credentials within 3 years will be a condition of hire.
If you are hired, you will need to complete fingerprinting and TB testing before working with children.
Job Responsibilities:
Help maintain an effective child development program that includes approaches to learning; social and emotional development; physical development and health; language, literacy, and communication (including English language learners); mathematics; science; social studies; and the creative arts.
Maintain a safe physical environment that supports development across domains.
Uphold Michigan Child Care Licensing rules, GSRP requirements, and Michigan Early Childhood Standards.
Continue with a consistent yet flexible daily schedule with well-established routines and smooth transitions.
Create positive and responsive adult-child relationships.
Maintain a calm, pleasant environment in the classroom in which children and families feel comfortable and secure.
Provide positive guidance using Conscious Discipline to help children develop social-emotional skills (training available).
Develop a strong home to school relationship with families.
Assist with parent teacher conferences and home visits 2x per year as outlined in the GSRP Implementation Manual.
Help maintain written records and stay up-to-date on entering documentation in COR Advantage (training available).
Work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of quality in the classroom and in the program.
Attend scheduled family events, meetings, trainings, and/or conferences that fall during your employment.
Other duties as needed.

Typical Schedule: Monday through Thursday 8:00-4:00, occasional Friday hours (no students on Fridays)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
