Lead Teachers are responsible for supporting their teams in meeting the staff evaluation criteria regarding:

Daily Routine
Small Group

Transitions and Clean Up
Snacks and Meals

Curriculum Planning and Assessment
Family Partnerships and Community Relationships
Adult Child Interactions
Children’s Physical Well Being

Helps to follow and meet licensing, NAEYC and Gretchen’s House regulations and guidelines.
Helps to follow and meet licensing guidelines

Professionalism
Follows NAEYC’s ‘Code of Ethical Conduct’
Is a professional member of the organization

Holds or is pursuing a degree in the early childhood field

Requirements:
BA in Early Childhood Education or closely related field preferred
Experience working in a childcare setting
Supervisory experience
Personnel File is up to date
CPR/First Aid
Current TB Test and up-to-date immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hep B and Covid-19)
Current Physical Appropriate
Attendance
Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children, co-workers and families
Sensitive to the individual needs of families Ability to communicate with families effectively
Ability to supervise variety of staff
Knowledge of rules, regulations and standards
Knowledge of child development
Ability to provide appropriate guidance
Ability to seek supervision and use it constructively
Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
Evidence of sufficient judgment
