St Francis Preschool in Ann Arbor is seeking to hire loving Preschool Lead teachers who would work with children ages 3-4 for the 2026-2027 school year. Much of the school year is spent in the outdoor classrooms. This is a full-time (40-hour/week) position that runs from mid-August to mid-June. There are 9 weeks of PAID TIME OFF. This is a salaried position and the range is $37,000-$43,00/year, along with outstanding benefits. Cover letter, professional resume and references are required to apply.
Job responsibilities:
Working collaboratively and professionally with co-workers and families in the preschool program.
Provide meaningful, authentic interactions and activities with the children in his/her care.
Creates lesson plans to promote the social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth of children.
Utilizes various tools to create anecdotal notes and observations of the children in their care.
Maintains a safe and healthy environment.
Monitor children by sight to ensure their safety.
Engage positively with children, parents, family members, and co-workers and is responsive to all.
Respects the diversity and values of each child, family and co-worker and their contributions to the community
Assists in creating a warm, developmentally appropriate and engaging classroom environment.
Interacts with the children in a calm, emphatic manner that encourages self-esteem, personal growth and independence.
Recognizes children as individuals with different needs.
Participates in staff meetings and training experiences.
Is familiar with all State of Michigan licensing regulations as they pertain to classroom management and curriculum.
Assumes leadership role in the absence of the Child Care Director
Required Qualifications:
Valid CDA credential OR Associates degree or higher in a child related field
9 hours of MiRegistry approved training
A minimum of 2 years teaching in a licensed ECE program
Required skills:
Must love children
Minimum of 4 years working with young children in a State of Michigan licensed program (required)
Must be 19 years or older
Must have a positive attitude about being outdoors in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift and hold at least 40lbs
Must be able to get up and down off the floor and play actively with children
Compensation:
$37,000-$43,000/year (10 months)
