Job Title: Preschool Assistant Teacher
Reports To: Center Director
Salary Range: $18.00-$19.50 per hour

The PreK Assistant Teacher will be responsible for the planning, supervision, safety, and education of preschool aged utilizing the approved curriculum at the Boston Square Early Learning Center. Working alongside fellow teachers and staff, this person will support the culturally responsive, multi-lingual model unique to Refugee Education Center as part of the Boston Square Early Learning Center.

Job Duties
• Works with and mentor’s co-teacher(s) in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate lessons based on the curriculum
• Supervises the classroom environment and ensures the equipment and the facility are clean, well-maintained and safe at all times
• Conduct daily small-group activities, share responsibility for large-group activities and using appropriate adult/child interactions strategies with all children
• Supervision of the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
• Communicates any classroom supply needs, to the Lead Teacher
• Engages in daily, weekly, and monthly observations and data collection
• Implement culturally appropriate experiences and activities
• Assists in meeting the personal needs of the children
• Attends and actively participates in all staff meetings and coaching
• Attends and participates in family engagement activities
• Participates in professional development training programs, conferences, and professional Early Childhood Organizations
• Assists in preparing for family conferences and home visits
• Engages in problem solving practices within all aspects of their role
• Communicates with the Director regularly keeping them abreast of all pertinent details of their classroom
• Practices confidentiality in all aspects of their role
• Maintains daily documentation and keeps all necessary records
• Adheres to all policies and procedures stated in employee handbooks
