Job Description:

School Age Lead Teacher Responsibilities

Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and the children. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring that all parent, child, and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed.

Qualifications:
– The teacher will be a Christian and be an active member of a Bible teaching church.
– Minimum high school diploma or GED.
– Degrees and semester hours shall be from an accredited college or university.
– Be at least 19 years of age.
– All other requirements of the licensing agency.

Responsibilities:
Daily Planning/Teaching
-Role models Christian principles and holds others in the classroom accountable for the same.
-Communicates appropriate information to parents.
-Completes all center/classroom paperwork, e.g., daily notes, student accident reports, attendance records.
-Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the classroom program and child assessment.
-Develops, plans, and prepares instructional aids/materials for classroom activities.
-Develops lessons and activities to fit the needs of individual children in the classroom with concern for their interests, handicaps, special talents, and individual style and pace for learning.
-Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, organization, and schedule (provides a copy to director).
-Teaches the learning activities in a Christian, loving, and caring atmosphere.
-Provides students with creative and innovative materials that will enhance their learning process.
-Assist and supervises children during all activities.
-Assist children wit physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
-Maintains black binder (information sheet, permission form).
-Familiar with all emergency procedures and communicates these procedures with classroom staff.
-Ensures all staff knows of allergies and medical issues of children.

Classroom Decorum
-Provides a colorful and orderly classroom using learning centers as a primary source of self-discovery and self-learning.
-Ensures that appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of classroom in appropriately maintained.
-Ensures that all classroom/outdoor equipment are in good working condition and is used/maintained properly.
-Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
-Meets all state requirements for the position.

Other
-Demonstrates leadership qualities
-Keeps a positive relationship with all parents.
-Maintains confidentiality of day care, children and families, co-workers, and church issues.
-Treats clients, co-workers, and the public in a respectful and courteous manner at all times.
-Avoids participating in gossip.
-Completes other duties as assigned.
