Job Description:

The primary goals of the GSRP Associate Teacher will be to assist in the implementation of all components of the Michigan Great Start Readiness Program such that all enrolled children will demonstrate positive growth and development gains through the course of the school year as determined by approved child assessment measures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-An associate degree (AA) in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent; or
-A valid Center-Based Preschool CDA credential ; or
-Currently enrolled in an associate degree in early childhood education or child development or a CenterBased Preschool CDA credential program AND has a minimum of 6 months verified experience working in an early childhood setting. (Requires a compliancy plan)
-1000 hours of on-the-job Preschool or kindergarten (with the approval of the Superintendent/Designee) working experience prior to employment
-Certification of CPR and First Aid
-Teaching Experience/Assistant Experience (preferred)
-Successful completion of Blood Borne Pathogens Training prior to or upon hire
-Ability to Successfully Pass a Background Check

-Good organizational and problem-solving skills
-Self-directedness and initiative when given a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
-Ability to lift 40-50 pounds

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
-Administer day-to-day operations
-Complete annual professional development hours
-Complete any necessary GSRP grant requirements from the Michigan Department of Education
-Assist in planning, implementation and monitoring of curriculum
-Assist in recruitment and selection of eligible students
-Assist in establishing a positive involvement of parents
-Assist in daily operation of the program
-Other duties as assigned
-Accompany Lead Teacher on home visits and assist with screening process
