Dorothy’s Discovery Daycare Center is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced GSRP Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education, fostering a nurturing learning environment, and preparing children for kindergarten success through developmentally appropriate practices.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching.
• Meet all Michigan GSRP Lead Teacher credentialing requirements before hire or qualify under an approved compliance plan, if applicable.
• Current CPR, First Aid (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and meet all Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• Experience teaching preschool-aged children (3–5 years), preferably in a GSRP or HighScope classroom.
• Knowledge of the HighScope Curriculum, active learning, and child assessment practices.

Essential Responsibilities
• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the GSRP curriculum and the HighScope educational approach.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Conduct ongoing child observations, assessments, and documentation using approved GSRP assessment tools.
• Maintain accurate child records, lesson plans.
• Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, conferences, and family engagement activities.
• Collaborate effectively with the Associate Teacher, Early Childhood Specialist (ECS), and program leadership.
• Implement positive guidance and classroom management strategies.
• Ensure compliance with GSRP standards, Michigan Licensing Rules, health and safety regulations, and program policies.
• Participate in professional development, coaching, and staff meetings as required.
• Support school readiness by fostering children’s independence, curiosity, and love of learning.
