Job Description:

Early Spark Academy & Childcare is a Reggio Emilia–inspired early learning center where children learn through play, inquiry, and meaningful relationships.

We are seeking a thoughtful and intentional Preschool Teacher who is passionate about supporting young learners and creating a classroom where children’s ideas, curiosity, and growth are valued.

Key Responsibilities

– Plan and implement child-led, project-based learning aligned with Michigan standards
– Use documentation (photos, notes, observations) to help make learning visible
– Facilitate small groups, explorations, and meaningful interactions
– Maintain a well-organized classroom environment that supports independence and learning
– Partner with co-teachers and families through clear, respectful communication
– Ensure compliance with licensing, ratios, and health/safety standards

Qualifications

– Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
– Minimum 2 years of lead teaching experience in a preschool/Pre-K classroom
– Classroom management
– Lesson planning
– Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Strongly Preferred

– Experience with Reggio Emilia, HighScope, Montessori, or GSRP
– Experience with documentation and assessment tools
– Ability to support and collaborate with assistant teachers
