Job Description:

Somerset Academy, an NAEYC Accredited Early Childhood School, is accepting resumes for a preschool teacher for the 2025/2026 school year. The curriculum is play based and child directed, guided by the Michigan State Standards.

Position is .75: 3 days/week 8:15-1:00 and 2 days/week 8:15-4:15 during the school year (August 18-June 11) . We follow the Oakland School Common Calendar for breaks.

Applicants should have:
A bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Early Childhood or a related field
Recent classroom experience
Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practice and language
Team teaching experience
A desire to continue professional growth Experience with parent communication and conferences
Professionalism

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with a team of teachers
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of preschool-aged children.
Manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment.
Foster effective communication with students, parents, and staff to support child development.
Assess and document children’s progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Provide individualized attention and support to children with diverse learning needs.
